Mark Bo Chu is an artist, writer and scientist. Chu's paintings focus on the everyday through streetscapes and portraits. Chu's art has been covered in VICE, ABC News, SBS News, The Australian, The New York Times, The Philadelphia Enquirer and The Press of Atlantic City. As a writer, Chu has contributed to The Good Food Guide, Time Out, To Be, Europe Now, Good Sport, and The Lifted Brow. Chu has a fiction MFA from Columbia University, and is a graduate of the Santa Fe Institute's Complex Systems Summer School. A past concert pianist, Chu has recorded with the Melbourne and Western Australian Symphony Orchestras. Chu's scientific research focuses on computational cognition, having been published in Cognition and Nature.
